Took the Stars From My Eyes

Okay, so I've been delving deeper and deeper into Gorillaz-lore; a bit pathetic really, when you think that I got into them just after they decided they were done. OTL That's the story of my life; develop interests in things years (months, in this case) after they've gone out of style. Like Ren and Stimpy. And Beavis and Butthead. And Futurama. Bah.

Okay, so I'm still trying to brush up my technique with drawing 2-D (my obvious favourite) while waiting for my sister to be un-grounded so we can actually work on a collaboration. xD -mostly being facetious- And I noticed a lack of 2-D actually looking hurt. And I don't know why he would ever want to kiss Murdoc. Ever. That's a serious stretch, even by yaoi standards. Of course, it's all messed up if it has my favourite character in it. xD

So this is 2-D right after Murdoc hit him with his car. I was gonna draw, like, keyboards strewn about, but decided I was too lazy. I put a dinky little shirt on 2D that kinda... I dunno, details where he was a the time of the accident. 2D wears nice, simple little shirts and I wouldn't put it past him to wear a shirt of similar stature.

Okay. xD I realized AFTER I drew both accidents that there's a video on Youtube where it shows a slideshow of how 2-D lost his... face. Eyes. Whatever. It also shows his outfits. Y'know what? Screw it. xD

Okay, so I was GONNA draw him with his eyes barely open, but I'm still confused/frustrated as to exactly what's wrong with his eyes. Half the sites say he has hyphema in his eyes, other sites say he has 8-ball fractures, some sites say his eyes were knocked back into his head and THEN in the iTunes interview, Mudz and 'D say that his eyes came right OUT of his sockets. Ergo... I'm a bit befuddled. And this isn't a place for debate. You'd think they know the difference between hyphema and 8-ball fractures. I mean, I guess they're the same thing, but also different? Again, not a place of debate. I suppose his eyes SHOULD be filled with blood, but then again... -tears hair out- SO, to solve my dilemma, I decided to just have his eyes closed; after all, he went catatonic immediately upon impact, or so I've read. I also doodled blood in other places that could've been affected if, y'know, you get hit by a car. By the way, it's hard to see, but there's a monster of a bruise on his eye. Hmm... I'm not quite sure which eye was knocked out, it doesn't specify. I just picked one.

Oh, and there's a looming shadow of Murdoc. It's on a separate layer, so it can be easily removed if someone mentions that they don't like it. I guess maybe he could've known that he would've gotten busted anyway and the shirt gave 'D away...? -shrug- Whatev's.

I used Phase 1 2D since this was pre-Phase I. He was young. xD I can hardly imagine losing one of my eyes, like, tomorrow. Then again, I've always wanted to be blind... -ponder ponder-

Real quick, concerning the ground. I figured it'd make sense if it was carpet material, but looking at it now, it looks kinda like sand. I just picked an ugly, generic colour for carpet even though I'd expect a keyboard emporium to have a quirky, like... conservative and pretty dinky little carpet pattern. Like, black with red, blue, and green polka dots. Like the type of carpet you see in movie theatres.
